After an exciting, fast and full on first week and a half of university study, I have been able to take a breath and look at my company and research on what it’s all about.

My company Geely Automobile holdings limited is an automobile manufacturer for the purpose of selling passenger vehicles mainly to the Chinese market. The Geely brand has only been in the Automotive industry for around 20 years,

Before I get into looking and analysing the reports and writing my KCQs, I have noticed that the financial years ends on December 31. As of June, this year they are down 29% of units manufactured compared to last year and have had to revise their projection forecast for the rest of the year. This will be interesting to investigate.  Geely is listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange and in 2017 became a constituent of the hang Seng Index.

Of interest in the last decade it owns the Swedish passenger car maker Volvo and as of 2017 it has majority stake in the British sports car manufacturer Lotus.  It has also acquired the London Electric vehicle company, which famously makes the London taxi cabs. This privately-owned company has operations spanning the globe and has interests in all areas of car manufacturing from research, development and design, to sales and service.

Hello, it has taken some 50 years to write my very first Blog.

Welcome to my new university adventure, in which i am studying a bachelor of accounting and business, with a master in finance. I am studying online from the Sunshine Coast and are trying to combine my exciting new adventure with full time work, five kids, one grandchild and a few games of soccer in between.
